Cigarette Taxes

Rush Just Made A Good Point . . . How Can We Finance Child Healthcare With Cigarette Taxes If?
If too much taxes prompts people to quit ? The left has been saying that for years. . . . . Tax cigarettes , encourage people to quit -- Ban smoking in public places , encourage people to quit . Smokers are bad people .

And statistics show that many more people have quit as a result of constantly increasing cigarette taxes and public bans on smoking !

So How Does Increasing Cigarette Taxes Fund Child Healthcare , If Statistics Show That Higher Taxes Mean Less Purchases Hence , Less Taxes Available ?

I'm sorry libs but this is a supreme example of why liberalism is sometimes a nice notion on some issues , but the consequences don't jive with the intent .

My wife just quit smoking when the per pack price hit $4.50 here locally. When you consider the taxes, I seriously doubt that many are going to keep smoking and paying those kinds of taxes so that revenue will dry up. There's going to be nothing to pay for child health care.

Then, our government, being what it is, will look for other sources to maintain the inflow of cash so look for liquor, tires, and other items to have additional taxes added to them.

When my kids were young, I had to pay extra for a family insurance plan. I guess that'll have to continue because I have no intention of paying for someone else's insurance.

A tax loophole that allows customers to buy pipe tobacco and make their own cigarettes may have cost New York State $17 million in lost taxes over ...
