I heard you can get free Newport cigarette packs or cartons if you cut out and save a lot of their bar codes from the packs. Is this true? If so, how does it work?

Not in the US. Cigarette companies are not allowed to offer such promotions. If you register at their website, they may send you coupons for money off on packs and cartons.
