Vintage Cigarette Ad
Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Marlboro used "come to Marlboro country" as their slogan. i need help, finding out what that means and what is signifies. What message is it trying to get across?

I think its trying to get across the point that "real country boys" smoke Marlboro. Many adults admire those who live out in the country because they usually work hard with their hands and don't scam people or lie to make a living. In todays society its rare to find someone who works out on a large lot of land and puts in an honest days worth of work. The majority of people are overpaid to sit in an office and crunch numbers all day to figure out the best way to steal an american dollar from the people, or are living off of others tax paying dollars. Notice how it shows a healthy cowboy and open land in the advertisement. Its trying to take the admirable qualities of cowboys and country people and use it to promote their product. By buying their product they want you to feel like youre just like those hardworking cowboys and youre "coming to Marlboro country" by spending your money on their cigarettes. Im sure some overpaid business man thought long and hard about how to create an advertisment that would make you want to buy his companies product. Dirty mind games.
