Cigarette Tax In Texas

Are state lotteries one method of getting the poor to pay taxes?
And are the poor too dumb to realize the lottery is actually a tax in disguise? Just like cigarette taxes, alcohol taxes, and other sin taxes, the lottery is a back-door method to get the money back from the takers and they don't even realize it.

Sometimes it seems like libs and cons are just arguing about the METHOD used to TAKE the money from us.

Your right, the lottery is used to get money from the poor. It's a money laundering scheme. Politicians, especially liberals, fight to get welfare dollars from the federal government and then tax it locally through lottery or sales taxes.

In many cities in texas, the liberals are fighting to get a sales tax to pay for education. Currently, property tax funds our school systems. Mostly rich and well off people own property and therefor, the majority of funding for schools come from wealthy people. The problem is, that source of income has been tapped dry. Raise property tax and people will start to move out of the city. There are billions of dollars of federal welfare money flowing into the state of texas to poor people. How do you tap into that source of income? Lottery and sales tax
