Tobacco Only Cigarettes

What would happen if you smoked five cigarettes at once?
I'm writing a graphic novel, and one of the characters is supposed to be admitted to hospital because she smoked five tobacco cigarettes at the same time. What would happen if a person did this? I want to get my facts right.

Think about it. The lungs will only hold so much smoke at any given time. You would be able to smoke _slightly_ faster if you had five cigarettes in your mouth. But even though you have more smoke to work with, there's still a limit on how much you can inhale.

So it's going to be more or less the same experience as smoking one cigarette, although perhaps slightly more intense, since they'll be able to smoke faster.

Since you're writing a novel, and this character's smoking is presumably important to the story, you really ought to do your research. And that means buying a pack of cigarettes and getting an idea of what the character is experiencing.
