Marlboro Cigarettes Ads
I was in mexico and i have a question about the Marlboro cigarettes?
i was just in mexico for vacaction. and when i was at the airport there were these big packs of Marlboro cigarettes and on the package it said smoking kills. and on another one it said smoking seriously harms you and others around you. haha i thouhgt it was kinda funny. why do you think they put that on there?

Its the law. In Mexico all products that are consumable have to have a phrase on there ads including commercials. The phrase need to state a negetive effect that might be present in the advertised product.
The ones you mentioned are just some of many. For example there is also the famous, "Excessive drinking is not healthy."
It would be very interesting to know who picks the phrase to be utilized, the company or the Mex. gov.?
