How Many People Smoke Cigarettes

Why do you think people smoke cigarettes even if their families hate when they do?
Non smokers don't really usually love their friends or family to smoke cigarettes even though they may not go into details about why it's not a good thing to do. People know this anyway but they carry on with their bad lifestyles. Do you think it it because their families don't care about them smoking or they just don't want to talk about it?
