How is American Spirit better than Marlboro and other brands of cigarettes?
I know it's additive-free but why does it say "No additives in our cigarettes doesn't mean a safer cigarette."? Is it worth it to smoke American Spirits? AND DON'T SAY SMOKING IS BAD FOR YOU, QUIT! I KNOW JUST PLEASE ANSWER THE QUESTION, THANKS!

This was part of an FTC ruling and agreement resulting from allegations that the advertisement of additive-free cigarettes made consumers feel that the product might be less addictive than regular cigarettes. Research by US and German government health agencies has found significant levels of toxic chemicals even in pure additive-free tobacco and its smoke. Also, Winstons do not have any additives either. However, the government now requires all cig manufacturers to include some very nasty tasting chemical to their paper so it will self-exstinguish if not being actively drawn upon. In other words, the actions of our buttinski government now cause smokers to inhale more smoke per cig just so it doesn't self-exstinguish. Good job gov.
