Is smoking weed before a tonsillectomy going to kill me?
I am scheduled for a tonsillectomy tomorrow morning. I can eat and smoke cigarettes for another 1/2 hour, and I was not supposed to have beer or smoke marijuana. Well, I didn't have any beer but I tried not to smoke weed and I did. I know I'm supposed to tell the doctor which is fine but would there be any interactions?

Any drugs you use, legal or not, can affect how you react to anesthesia and postop analgesics. Tell your surgeon in the morning. Let your surgeon decide if the tonsillectomy needs to be cancelled and rescheduled.
